WCC is a registered 501(c)(3) which has trained thousands of emergency managers, community leaders, and not-for-profit groups to work together since 2001. WCC has been consulted as a subject matter expert in integrating communities in disaster response in the US and abroad. Through years of research and experience in the field, WCCâ??s programs train communities to prepare themselves, their families and neighbors for any emergency, as well as how to effectively work with official responders in times of crisis. By partnering with emergency managers and community leaders to guide the development of plans that integrate citizens into their disaster response, WCC enables all facets of a community to work in tandem and implement a coordinated response to the crises they may face.

Project Description:
Held every fall since 2002, the Iron Skillet Cook Off has become New York City's most sought after culinary competition, where five New York City firefighters and five of New York City's top celebrity chefs match their talents in a fiery contest for top honors. The proceeds from the evening go directly to benefit World Cares Center. World Cares Center is looking for volunteers to assist the night of the event. Motivated individuals will assist with check in, raffles, auction items and any other needs during the event. The event will take place on Monday, October 24 at Crimson in Manhattan. You will need to be available from 4pm to 6pm that day, and on October 20th from 6pm to 8pm for a pre-event meeting. We also need a few people during the day from 10am to 4pm to help set up.
